Monica and Husband Shannon Brown Talk Upcoming Nuptials

R&B diva Monica is beaming as she prepares for her July nuptials with Los Angeles Lakers hunk Shannon Brown. Although the couple was married in a secret ceremony last November without their respective families, the two are planning another a big wedding and reception for relatives and friends.

Monica and Brown recently appeared on 'Eye of L.A.' to discuss their upcoming wedding and revealed that they instantly fell in love with each other on the set of Mon's video, 'Love All Over Me.' Adds the singer, "We married six months ago and we did it without the family, so now we're having a celebration of our union with all of our family from Chicago and Atlanta."

After her nuptials, Monica will start prepping on her seventh album, 'New Life,' which is scheduled for release on October 4. The collection will feature productions from hitmakers Polow da Don and Missy Elliott. "I talk about a lot of different subjects, whether it's love, heartache, happiness [or] family," Monica says of the album. "The music will be a lot like 'Still Standing' in the sense that it's real and really about things that I've experienced, but it also from a very mature place."
