Normani Kordei Still Talks to Her Fifth Harmony Members + Considers Them ‘Sisters’
It's been months since Fifth Harmony announced its hiatus, but according to Normani Kordei the girls are still very much in contact. Entertainment Tonight caught up with the former 5H member Monday night (June 25) on the NBA Awards red carpet and asked what communication (if any) she has with her former group mates.
“Yeah, it’s funny because all of our birthdays are back to back, so we’ve been in communication there,” she said, referring to Lauren Jauregui, Dinah Jane and Ally Brooke.
“I think it was [Dinah’s] birthday recently, so I hit her up and told her happy birthday and we keep each other near, but right now, like, creatively we’re in our own space,” she added. “It’s like having sisters, you know? You need a breath of fresh air, time to breathe, which is healthy.”
Last month, Kordei reunited with Camila Cabello, who left the girl group in 2016 on not-the-best-of-terms. Back in March, the four members of 5H decided to part ways and focus on solo careers. Kordei recently signed a record deal with RCA.
“Just being in the studio and really excited to give my fans what it is they’ve been longing for, for some time now," Kordei said of her solo album. "They’ve been so supportive, it’s coming, I promise.”
