It's been nearly seven years since Michael Jackson died after ingesting a toxic combination of medications, but his daughter Paris has ensured that his memory will live at least as long as she does.

To celebrate her 18th birthday on April 3, Jackson stopped by Los Angeles' Dermagraphink Tattoo with her cousin Austin Brown to memorialize her connection with her father.

The finished product reads "Queen of My Heart," and as she explained in an Instagram post yesterday (April 4), "To everyone else he was the King of Pop. To me, well, he was the king of my heart." It goes without saying: Father's Day 2016 will have at least one very noticeable void.

Immediately, followers gushed over Jackson's new art — one noted, "I think it is the sweetest gesture ever to celebrate your first day of adulthood with a permanent reminder of a special connection you have with your dad. Your love for you father moves many hearts." Another commented, "I believe he would be so proud of you."

It was a pleasant departure from Jackson's last big social media-influx. In February, she went off on her following after fans began chiding her for what she chose to post or not post.

"I am expected to literally sit on my ass all day replying to comments people leave me (positive and negative)?" she argued. "I have AA meetings to go to. Family obligations. PERSONAL obligations."
