Less than a week after unveiling her debut single 'This Time' on tour, 'American Idol' alum Pia Toscano has released studio version of the track.

"Well, I'm mad as hell, ain't gon' take it no more," Toscano roars on the empowering pop tune, which premiered today on the Ryan Seacrest radio show. The song came from the pen of A-lister Ester Dean, who has written hits like Nicki Minaj's 'Super Bass' and Rihanna's 'S&M.'

Acoustic guitar mingles with a hard-hitting beat as Toscano sings, "I've been in denial, now I'm living the truth / Been down for a while, now I'm standing up to you / This time I'm gonna do it my way / This time I'm finding out the hard way / This time I'm gonna go back to the girl I was on the night you found me."

Putting aside the unfortunate line, "My bags is packed at the back of your door" -- aren't we past that trend of using improper plural syntax to earn street cred? -- the song presents a message of personal strength likely to resonate with listeners.

Toscano really shows off the pipes that made her an 'Idol' favorite with vocal gymnastics over the final chorus. 'This Time' will appear on her debut for Interscope, which signed the singer last week.

With Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina pursuing country music projects, the door is wide open for Toscano to become the big pop star from Season 10. If 'This Time' is any indication, she's well on her way.
