While practicing 'Wake Up Call' for tonight's first live show (April 2) on 'The Voice,' country gal RaeLynn said she was going to punch America in the face with country music. Go on, girl! Wearing a pink flower in her hair, Carrie Bradshaw-style, brown cowgirl boots and a big tulle skirted black dress, the youngest competitor of the season turned the Maroon 5 pop song into a country anthem. Her coach Blake Shelton admitted that it's a country song anyway – you cheat on me, I shoot you -- so RaeLynn could easily have her way with it.

Of course the fact that the song's singer, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, is on the coaching panel made him a tough crowd from the get-go. RaeLynn ran down to hug him after performing, so it was a nice touch. He did say she did "darn good." Hug or not. Cute!

RaeLynn stomped around the stage, clenching her fists and making gun signs with her fingers while performing, so it was a full service performance complete with visuals. She was a sassy little thing with stage presence, grinding her hips like a diva a few years older than she. She is on the cusp.

Her coach called her the future of country music. At 17, it sounds like country anthems are her calling.

We'd also like to point out that Shelton's "bromance" with Levine was on full display with this choice of song. They're not even trying to hide it. What's next? One of Levine's charges singing Shelton's 'Honey Bee' or 'Drink on It?' It wouldn't shock us in the slightest.
