Could Selena Gomez be sexing it up some time in the future? According to a report from The Daily Caller, 'Sex and the City' author Candace Bushnell recently opened up about a possible prequel, and how she would love for the 18-year-old 'Love You Like a Love Song' cutie to portray the role of the classy Charlotte York.

"Casting is like kismet. I'm going to get into trouble for this, but I was looking at some pictures of Selena Gomez today and thinking 'she'd make a really good young Charlotte," Bushnell said. "She's so pretty. I was like ... gosh, wouldn't she be great? Am I right or wrong? I'm not good at this. If I say something like that, then the next thing I know, people are like, no!"

The prequel would follow the stories Bushnell has penned about 'Sex and the City' leading lady, Carrie Bradshaw (played by Sarah Jessica Parker in the TV series and films). Bushnell has written two prequels to 'SATC,' which tell the story of Bradshaw's high school years, entitled 'The Carrie Diaries' and 'Summer in the City,' her most recent novel.

Even if Selena Gomez doesn't end up committing to the project, an onscreen adaptation of 'Summer in the City' will most likely happen either way. Bushnell said she could "definitely see something on the screen” for her latest novel, whether it airs on the "big or small screen."

Do you think Selena is a good match for the character of Charlotte? We wonder if Bieber's lady would be even be interested, and if she did confirm that she wanted the role, who her ultra-fab co-stars would be!
