Welsh television personality Steve Jones has been tapped to co-host Simon Cowell's new vocal competition program 'X Factor' with Nicole Scherzinger, who was announced as a host last week.

"These two are going to be great together," Cowell tells Us Weekly in a statement. "I have always wanted Steve to work with us; I think he is a real star."

Jones, 34, is mostly unknown in America, but he's hosted a number shows in Britain, including the quiz show 'As Seen on TV.' He also had small acting roles in the program 'Plus One' and the movie 'Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging.'

Jones has been romantically linked to Pamela Anderson and Halle Berry, and let's face it -- having hosts as easy on the eyes as Jones and Scherzinger certainly can't hurt ratings.

The celebrity cast for 'X Factor' has quickly taken shape. Paula Abdul was just confirmed as a judge, joining Cowell, singer Cheryl Cole and executive/producer L.A. Reid. New mom Mariah Carey may still have a role as well.

'X Factor' premieres on FOX this fall, with the next round of auditions set to take place this month in Los Angeles and Chicago.
