The Band Perry made their debut at the American Music Awards tonight (Nov. 20), performing their smash, multi-format hit 'If I Die Young.'

The trio has managed to effectively and successfully crossover from country to pop music with this beautiful, provocative and unforgettable ballad. It's essentially the song that made TBP a household name to country and pop fans, and the band didn't disappoint when taking the stage to perform the song for millions upon millions of viewers. They likely picked up even more fans courtesy of this performance.

Singer Kimberly Perry was a vision in red, wearing an old-fashioned, Southern-style, full-skirted dress that looked like something Scarlett O'Hara would have worn in the mid-1800s. We loved the juxtaposition of the classic frock paired with an acoustic guitar. Her brothers looked scruffy, with their long hair, suspenders and loose ties. They looked artfully disheveled and it worked for them.

The song and the band sounded terrific and it was evident why 'If I Die Young' has become a transcendent song that won't be confined to a single genre. Nice work, Perry siblings!
