If you’re a fan of Becky G’s upbeat summer jam ‘Shower,’ then you’ll love this stripped down and rocked up cover by the Heydaze.

The New York City band — comprised of Andrew, Jesse and another Andrew — must love Becky G as much as we do. They chose to cover her latest hit, and the clap-led beat is so catchy it’s almost hard to remember how the original goes. (Don’t worry, Becky, we still adore yours, too!) The band has stripped the song of its hop-hop influence and injected it with acoustic guitars and heavy percussion for a more pop-rock tone.

When asked what drew them to the song, the Heydaze guys shared: “Our goal as a band is to approach pop music at a slightly different angle from a lot of what is on Top 40 radio at the moment. We chose to cover ‘Shower’ because it's a song that we all found tremendously catchy and due to its somewhat spar production, we felt that its a song we could spin into our trademark style (tightly produced, guitar-centric pop rock).”

They added, “Our lead singer, Jesse Fink, has a voice that gives off a tremendous amount of energy and character, which we felt was a good fit for this track."

We have to agree — Jesse’s vocals are perfect for the fast-paced, lovestruck lyrics.
