The Weeknd performed his Oscar nominated song "Earned It" at the 2016 Academy Awards tonight (February 28) with a little help from some cabaret dancers.

The Weeknd is up for his first Oscar for the song, which appears in the hit movie Fifty Shades of Grey. The track, which came out last year, peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, earning The Weeknd his first top five single, according to a report from Just Jared.

In addition to The Weeknd, the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack features a number of major artists: Beyonce, Sia and Ellie Goulding contribute tracks to the album, which moved an unexpected 428,000 copies in its first two weeks, according to a report from Buzzfeed.

But despite those huge names, "Earned It" is the only track to appear in the movie twice, according to Republic Records' Tom Mackay.

“He was unbelievable during this process,” said Mackay. “Our A&R staff brought him in very, very early and he worked on a number of songs for a number of scenes. Some were working and some weren’t, but he just kept at it, and kept at it, and kept at it. In the end, he wrote ‘Earned It’ and it’s the biggest song of his career to date. It’s the only song that’s in the movie twice.”

"Earned It" is up for Best Original Song and has some hefty competition: “Manta Ray” from Racing Extinction, “Simple Song #3” from Youth, “Til It Happens to You” by Lady Gaga and Diane Warren for The Hunting Ground and Sam Smith's Spectre theme song "Writing's on the Wall" are also nominated.
