Can you believe MTV celebrated it's 30th anniversary on Aug. 1, 2011? It seems like just yesterday that the network started to bring viewers in to enjoy music video gems, listen to the mindless banter of 'Beavis and Butthead,' and to party it up at Spring Break. In order to celebrate the milestone for the music network, Usher and MTV execs rang the legendary bell at the New York Stock Exchange.

"I’m really happy to be a part of not only the Stock Exchange, but also MTV who has remained relevant for over the last 30 years and will continue to evolve because they are open and really give us that outlet, not only to be musical but also to be creative ... Embracing the culture where life is," Usher said at the event. Even though Usher was only 2-years-old when the television network launched, the singer is still a devoted fan, like so many other generations that grew up watching MTV.
