Are you ready to see Whitney Houston perform live in concert again...but as a hologram? The answer is likely "no," but it doesn't matter, because that's a tour that's happening, come 2016!

According to Rolling Stone, the endeavor is being organized by (of course, who else?) Hologram USA in conjunction with Whitney’s sister, Pat Houston, who is also the president of the late singer's estate.

Whitney's hologram will premiere at an as-of-yet undisclosed US venue next year. Following that debut, the Whitney hologram will go on a world tour.

Alki David, the CEO of Hologram USA, said in a press release (via Idolator), “I was heartbroken when Whitney passed away in 2012. The opportunity to help share her spectacular gifts with the world again is exactly what I hoped for when I built the hologram business.”

Pat Houston also released a statement about the venture, saying, “It’s a great opportunity for her fans to see a reinvention of one of the most celebrated female artists in history and to continue a legacy of performances that will not be forgotten in years to come. I look forward to this partnership.”

The Whitney hologram will reportedly “play” a selection of her greatest hits.

Would you see Whitney Houston-as-a-hologram in concert? Is this hologram craze (which, in the past, has included Michael Jackson and Tupac) even necessary? Does anyone else find this whole things kind of bizarre? Can we maybe leave legends' legacies intact, instead? Let us know your thoughts.
