Who Was Snubbed Hardest by 2017 Grammy Awards Nominations?
Nominations for the 2017 Grammy Awards were announced early this morning (December 6), and -- as per predictions -- pop behemoths like Beyonce, Rihanna and Justin Bieber earned nods across the board. But others were surprisingly left off the list entirely, begging the question: Who was snubbed the hardest by the 2017 Grammy Awards nominations?
Certain artists like Drake and Sia did receive nominations, but neither scored nods in categories that seemed like a done deal. Drake's "One Dance" failed to earn either a Record of the Year or Song of the Year nomination, while Sia's This Is Acting is solely up for Best Pop Vocal Album, while "Cheap Thrills" earned only the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance nomination.
Other artists were shut out of the categories entirely, despite stellar musical output.
Zayn's debut album Mind of Mine was widely well received, and lead single "Pillowtalk" earned the former 1D singer his first ever No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 -- but he was ignored by the academy.
One Direction's possibly final album Made in the A.M. also received no love from the Grammys, nor did Britney Spears' Glory or Fifth Harmony's 7/27.
Carly Rae Jepsen was also unjustly denied a nomination yet again, despite her EMOTION: Side B release, as was Selena Gomez's Revival, Nick Jonas' Last Year Was Complicated and Alessia Cara's Know-It-All.
