‘X Factor’ May Have Already Found Its New Winner(s)
In 11 seasons, Little Mix are the only group act to have been named X Factor winners, but a new four-piece act from the Philippines are looking primed to follow suit.
In a sneak peek of the new season, which premieres tomorrow (August 29), a girl group called 4th Power take the stage for the first time in front of judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw. As they mention that they flew to the United Kingdom exclusively to audition for the show, the stakes are certainly high.
4th Power, who are all sisters, seem poised and polite while introducing themselves in the video above — but as soon as they rip into "Bang Bang," all formalities are tossed out the window. Their vocals are powerful and husky, their chemistry is clear and they've even prepared choreography to supplement the Jessie J track. And by the time Nicki Minaj's rap feature rolls around (yes, 4th Power even come prepared to spit a few verses), the judges can't help but throw their hands up in the air in resounding approval (save for Simon Cowell, of course). These girls might be an amateur act, but this is definitely how the pros do things.
Under the tutelage of mentor Tulisa, Little Mix won X Factor in 2011 after never having landed in the Bottom Two.
Think 4th Power might just have X Factor all wrapped up already? Watch the video, and sound off on their audition below!
