Two acts were eliminated on 'X Factor' tonight. What a way to start off the Thanksgiving holiday, right? The act with the lowest amount of votes was automatically sent home, while the other two lowest ranked acts had to perform for their lives.
This week contestants on 'X Factor' are supposed to sing songs that give thanks to people who are important in their lives. After a very touching intro with each girl in Lakoda Rayne praising a separate family member, the performance starts and the girls begin to sing ... Wait for it ... Taylor Swift's 2009 smash hit 'You Belong with Me.' Yes, the song about unrequited love. Confused yet? Join the club.
'X Factor' judge Simon Cowell didn't like the choreography, the set design or Lakoda Rayne's singing on Wednesday night, but he said they have potential. The all-female quartet performed two songs in one, the Outfield's 'Your Love' and Fleetwood Mac's 'Go Your Own Way,' during Rock Week.
Lakoda Rayne were the second group to perform tonight on 'X Factor,' and the girls' rendition of Fleetwood Mac's dreamy, melancholy tune 'Landslide' garnered mixed reviews. Right off the bat, it seemed like it was going to an odd performance concept, since the quartet had each member to represent a different season.
Paula Abdul was assigned to mentor the team of groups on 'X Factor' this season. On tonight's episode, which was supposed to air last night until Mother Nature and MLB interfered and bumped things a day, four of the eight groups Abdul is mentoring performed for her and producer Pharrell.
