Lest the real world wasn't giving you enough fuel for your nightmares, American Horror Story is returning with another fright-packed season to keep you up into the wee hours of the night.

The first teaser for Season 8, officially titled Apocalypse, features an array of twisted imagery, including an hourglass filled with flaming skulls, a melting, gas-mask wearing corpse-come-back-to-life, and of course, the crowning jewel, a demon baby in utero.

Apocalypse will mark the long-anticipated crossover between Season 1's Murder House and Season 3's Coven. Emma Roberts will reprise her role as Coven's Madison Montgomery, and Jessica Lange — who's been absent from the franchise since Season 4's Freak Show — will return for one episode, playing her Murder House character Constance Langdon. Series alums Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, Adina Porter, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, and Sarah Paulson are all also set to appear.

As viewers may recall, troubled teen ghost Tate Langdon (Evan Peters) raped and impregnanted Vivien Harmon (Connie Britton) in Murder House, and his satanic offspring is likely the unborn child depicted in the teaser. Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story breakout Cody Fern has signed on to portray the grown-up version of the character, whose name is Michael.

AHS: Apocalypse premieres Sept. 12. Watch the teaser below.
