Erika Van Pelt of South Kingston, R.I. is a travelling DJ and wedding singer on the side. It looks as though her travels will take her straight to Hollywood because this girl has got pipes!

Van Pelt's song choice of 'Will You Love Me Tomorrow,' originally co-written by Carole King and performed by the Shirelles, totally matched her demeanor (as the judges noted) and her voice shined on the A cappella version. It's been awhile since we've seen an earthy and truly authentic singer on 'American Idol,' and Van Pelt is just what we've been looking for. Move over pop princesses, there's a new queen in town!

Van Pelt eventually got the okay from Steven Tyler, Randy Jackson and Jennifer Lopez. No surprises there! We look forward to hearing more from Erika and the growing crop of contestants headed to Hollywood from the Steel City. Season 11 is shaping up to have group of talented and original performers -- just what the doctor ordered!
