Reigning ‘American Idol’ Lee DeWyze Serenades Us With ‘Beautiful Like You’
'American Idol' Season 9 winner Lee DeWyze returned to the site of his big win -- the 'Idol' stage-- this evening, performing his painfully pretty new single 'Beautiful Like You' from his 2010-released album, 'Live It Up.' It feels like just yesterday we were watching DeWyze scratch and claw his way to the Season 9 title.
The singer, with his raspy, emotive voice and his acoustic guitar, stepped right into the zone with his performance. He was so focused that he seemed a little stiff, actually. Maybe it was a case of pre-show jitters? Whatever the case, DeWyze's voice reminded us why he snatched the big win away from Crystal Bowersox last May.
After his performance, DeWyze caught up with Ryan Seacrest, telling the host that he is "hitting the road, having a great time. It's great to be back. You guys did some re-arranging but it's great."
DeWyze also offered some parting advice for the new crop of hopefuls who are right where he was last year. DeWyze advised the kids to "remember why you tried out in the first place. No matter when you leave, you still love music."
