‘American Idol’ Season 10 Alums Ring in Closing Bell on NASDAQ Trading Floor

'American Idol' Season 10 winner. The pride of Garner, North Carolina. Southern gentleman. Country superstar in training. Scotty McCreery, 17, is all those things, and today, he added something else to his bulging resume. According to Taste of Country, the ever-busy McCreery rang the closing bell on the NASDAQ trading floor on Monday, Aug. 22.

McCreery was flanked by some of  his tour mates and Season 10 castmates, dressed in a normal teenager's uniform of shorts and a tee, which is a funny image if you think about it. The NASDAQ floor is normally crowded  and overflowing with business professionals cloaked in suits and buttoned up attire.

Some of the former 'Idol' contestants crowded around McCreery and a group of children were also brought on stage for this ceremonial event.

The ringing of the bell is somewhat of a common tradition for 'Idol' casts. Members from the last five seasons of the resurgent show have enjoyed the honor of ringing the bell. It's a fun press opp, as well, since McCreery has been burning the candle at both ends and has appeared in or on almost every major media outlet since notching his big win last May. This was something a little new and different.
