America has voted and the 'American Idol' Top 10 is as follows. This batch of 10 hopefuls was voted on by the whopping 40 million fans who tuned in over the past two nights as the competition gets tougher, the talent pool shrinks and the stakes increase. Three other contestants advanced as wild cards; those who were given a stay of execution, so to speak, were chosen by the judges and then voted on by fans.

Without further adieu, here is the fan-selected Top 10 who will dominate 'Idol' for the rest of the season.

Lauren Alaina: This effortlessly, naturally talented teen is still "the one," to borrow a phrase from Shania Twain. Original 'Idol' Kelly Clarkson Tweeted that Alaina reminds her of former contestant Kellie Pickler.

Karen Rodriguez: Her bilingual version of Mariah Carey's 'Hero' was seamless. Latinas represent!

Pia Toscano: Her back-loaded, save-the-best-for last performance of 'I'll Stand By You' was dramatic and head-turning. It actually brought the audience to its feet for a standing "O."

Thia Megia: This 15 year old proves that you can make your point with understated, pitch-perfect poise. She's not 'Out Here on My Own.' Most of America, and the judges, are behind her.

Haley Reinhart: She made us "fall" for her when she tackled Alicia Keys' 'Fallin'."

James Durbin: His vocal acrobatics, thanks to the way he handled Judas Priest's 'You Got Another Thing Coming,' were unforgettable. They made Steven Tyler curse.

Casey Abrams: J. Lo called him "sexy!" It must be the stand up bass and that Seth Rogen-style 'fro.

Jacob Lusk: He is overly emotional and over the top -- the late Luther Vandross would be proud.
Can you imagine how ballistic he go if he actually wins? That's reason enough to keep tuning in.

Scott McCreery: The country genre's favorite son continues to croon in a voice that's so deep it hits marrow. It's still hard to believe he is just 16.

Paul McDonald: This little-seen dark horse once again wows. He might keep on creeping up in the standings, since slow and steady often wins the race.
