Ansel Elgort decided to open up about sex and relationships when he sat down for an interview with Elle magazine for their March 2015 issue.

After the interviewer brings up Augustus Waters, the character from The Fault in Our Stars Ansel plays in the film adaptation, Ansel says that he can relate to him in a way -- at least, when it comes to dating. He said, "He's genuine deep down. But on the surface he's playing this character that he thinks is the cool, perfect guy. Honestly, that's how I've felt when I've been single and talking to girls. Like, This is who they want Ansel Elgort to be. I talk slowly. I stand up straight. I feel like, 'Yeah. They're totally being charmed. It's working. It's working.' But I don't feel like I'm being myself."

Something Ansel doesn't have in common with Augustus? Losing his virginity was definitely not a romantic situation. It was pretty relatable to the universal experience of having sex for the very first time. He told the magazine, "I was 14. I had no clue what I was doing, and neither did the girl. I didn't even make the lighting good. That'd be one thing I'd do differently. It was, like, fluorescent, bright bedroom light, like, over the covers." Sounds about right.

And for those of you who have been crushing hard on Ansel, we've got some bad news for you: It looks like he's officially off the market. When asked if he's dating someone he wasn't exactly forthright about the details, but he did say, "People are going to find out eventually. It's no one famous. To be honest, I don't mind talking about my experiences in life, but details aren't for everyone."
