Bill Murray's upcoming musical Christmas special, A Very Murray Christmas, won't premiere on Netflix until early December — but a recently-released trailer gives viewers a first glimpse at the special's plot.

In the clip, Murray means to assemble a bunch of his famous friends to create a Christmas special that will, in his own words, “go down as the greatest night in history." But conflict arrives when all of New York City shuts down, likely due to inclement weather. This hasn't actually happened more than a small handful of times in the 27 years I've been alive and living in New York, but something has to drive the plot, I guess.

Still, the show must go on and Murray insists that it does, despite Michael Cera declaring, "This sad excuse for a Christmas special is seeming to me more like a ‘Christ-mess,’ as in what a mess."

The star-studded special -- which was directed by Sophia Coppola and marks Murray's first time working with the director since 2003's Lost in Translation -- is set to include cameos from a host of celebrities like Amy Poehler, Chris Rock, George Clooney, Jenny Lewis, Jason Schwartzman, Maya Rudolph, Rashida Jones and Paul Schaffer -- all of which will play themselves. Miley Cyrus even pops up at one point to sing what sounds like a faithful rendition of the Christmas classic “Sleigh Ride."

Bill Murray's A Very Murray Christmas premieres on Netflix on December 4. Check out the trailer above in the meantime.
