According to PEOPLE, country superstar Blake Shelton is set to both host and perform on the iconic late-night comedy show, 'SNL,' on Jan. 24 -- a feat that's been taken on by less than 40 performers over the show's 40 year run. When you consider just how little that number is, it gets even crazier once you realize that even fewer of those performers were country stars. Past country artists filling both roles include Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Tim McGraw and Taylor Swift -- just to name a few. It looks like Blake has some pretty big shoes to fill!

Carson Daly -- the host of singing competition 'The Voice,' of which Blake plays both judge and mentor to the contestants -- tweeted about the news to Blake. He poked some fun at Blake, and also got the date wrong, but still. You can check out that tweet below.

We're currently waiting for fellow 'The Voice' judge, Adam Levine's, comments on Blake's hosting gig. Seeing as how Adam also hosted and performed on 'SNL' in 2013 and the two are friendly rivals on the show, we're sure whatever he has to say will be good. Considering how hilarious they are together, we'd definitely be down for a future episode with the two of them co-hosting.

Will you be tuning in for Blake's episode on Jan. 24? Are you totally excited!? Let us know what you think!
