Britney + Madonna Flirt on Twitter

Are Madonna and Britney Spears puckering up again? The blonde bombshells, who infamously swapped spit onstage at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2003, have been straight up, downright flirting on Twitter!

Spears initiated the flattery, complimenting Madge on her No. 1 record, 'MDNA.' Madonna responded by asking Spears for another smooch, but Spears played hard to get. Cheeky, ladies!

Perhaps Madonna is feeling amorous in addition to jubilant. 'MDNA' debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes charts in 40 countries, boasting the biggest one-day pre-sale by any artist in iTunes history, as well as breaking Elvis Presley’s U.K. record for the solo artist with the most No. 1 albums on British charts.

Madonna previously had joined Twitter for one day on Monday, March 26, issuing 136 tweets in a Q+A lovefest with her fans -- and with Justin Bieber, who she invited to join her onstage.

Spears isn't the only pop starlet Madonna has been itching to suck face with. She also kissed Nicki Minaj on the lips for the Harajuku Barbie's birthday ... though we don't think she slipped Minaj the tongue.
