MTV Video Music Awards performer and Video of the Year nominee Bruno Mars has taped a promo for the awards show that shows off his exuberance and instrumental abilities.

The clip opens to the sounds of the Police hit 'Roxanne' as Mars walks down a dark hallway with Police and Little Richard records on the wall. He enters a room where well-wishers have gathered, steps behind the turntables, plays the piano and drums, and dances with a few ladies as portions of his songs 'Runaway Baby' and 'Grenade' are played.

Mars, who also performed on last year's show, is likely to walk away with at least one moonman this year, with 'Grenade' up for Video of the Year, Best Pop Video and Best Male Video. Bruno's promo clip is the latest made public by MTV as the anticipation builds for the VMAs, which air this Sunday, Aug. 28. The network revealed Lady Gaga's promos last week.

Gaga, Adele, Pitbull and Lil Wayne are among the other scheduled performers on the 2011 program. Check out the full list of performers and presenters.
