Bruno Mars didn't need any help to take 'Grenade' to the No. 1 spot, but now ubiquitous rapper Lil Wayne has added his own verse to the track.

The remix is the original version of 'Grenade' with a short freestyle from Weezy added at the beginning. Over the song's soft piano melody, Wayne raps a verse that picks up on the song's theme of unrequited love:

"And I don’t mind when we fall out / As long as we fall back into it / I hope we never put an end to it / Even though you're not that into it / Heaven, have you ever been to it? / Cause you look like you never been / You’re more like a Hell’s angel / And for you, I’d rather sin."

"For you, I'll jump off Noah's Ark," Wayne continues. "Die for you, and I'll die smiling."

Aside from Wayne's verse, the rest of the song remains the same, with Mars singing about how he'd catch a grenade and jump in front of a train for a girl, even though she won't do the same.

During MTV's Grammy pre-show, Mars seemed pleased with the remix, though he had no idea it was coming. "You know what? I saw it online," Mars said. "It said 'Lil Wayne,' and I was like, 'What?'"

'Grenade' made three separate runs in the No. 1 position, becoming the third chart-topper for Mars.
