Carly Rae Jepsen and Nine Inch Nails is the combination nobody ever knew we needed -- until now.

Okay, so that's not entirely true. One musically-minded person decided Carly's latest single "I Really Like You" and Nine Inch Nails' 1989 hit "Head Like a Hole" pair together so perfectly that they deserve to be put together. And while it doesn't sound like something that would work on paper (Carly's song is super pop, Nine Inch Nails' is super rock), everything comes together so seamlessly that this has become one of our favorite mashups of all time. And as people who truly appreciate the beauty of weird song pairings, trust us when we say that's a pretty high honor. The video itself also does a fair job mashing up their performances, so its definitely something worth checking out.

There's something about the minds of people who do mashups that seriously fascinates us. While we love when two similar sounding songs are paired together, we're always in awe when the two songs being put together are vastly different from each other. Two of our favorites include Britney Spears' "Do Something" mixed with Muse's "Supermassive Black Hole" for the questionably titled but perfectly executed "Britney's Massive Hole." We never would have thought of that combination!

Then there's the even weirder and more unexpected mashup of Justin Bieber's "Baby" combined with Slipknot's "Psychosocial" for the beauty that is "Psychosocial Baby." Never have two songs come together to form something more beautiful in the history of music.

Check out the mashup of "I Really Like You" and "Head Like a Hole" in the video above!
