Young singer Cherlise invited the cameras in while she and producer Rico Love discussed the music on her upcoming debut album.

The video captured a conversation between the two as they discussed what they have recorded so far and what they still need to work on. "It encompasses every part of womanhood," Cherlise said of the album. "We touched on celebrating love, celebrating life, and we kinda stayed away from the typical 'I'm so hurt, I'm so miserable.' But it is a very real part of womanhood, and it is a very real part of being a grown woman."

"We've been working on this album for three years," Love said. "We got joints. I just wanna make sure now we polishin' it up and making everything crispy and today and up-to-date."

Cherlise said her songs are sassy but humble, and she presented evidence by bringing the camera into the studio to hear portions of some of the finished songs. "I don't wanna be just a girl," she sang on one of the tracks, "'Cause a girl can't love you like a woman."

Cherlise told PopCrush she hopes to have the album out sometime next year.
