Ciara Responds to Future’s Criticisms About Her Parenting

Future can't stop subtweeting his ex-fiancee Ciara, and she's definitely over it.

In an interview with CBS This Morning, Ciara addressed a tweet Future posted that reportedly criticized her decision to introduce their son Future Zahir to Ciara’s current boyfriend, NFL player Russell Wilson.

Ciara pointed out that there's an inherent double standard in what Future's saying, as she cared for his children early into their relationship: “It’s been very interesting to hear what a lot of guys have had to say, and I feel like, in a sense, it’s a bit of a double standard, because at one point in time when we were together I took care of his kids as well, at a very young time in our relationship."

She continued, saying, "Wouldn’t you want someone to love on your child or love on the child that you’re speaking about? More than anything it is a child we’re talking about. And that’s a thing i think people need to think about — remove the adults fro the situation, this is my child here. That’s serious."

Ciara also made the point that any discussion about her son should be off-limits, because he didn't choose to live his life in the public eye. She said, "People are going to talk about me. I was built for this, this is what I’m supposed to be doing. But when it comes to your child, it’s something I don’t take lightly. At the end of the day, my son will be the one that’s affected the most out of this. I think people have to think about that versus just shouting out things.”

Ciara says she reached out to Future to address his concerns privately, but he refused to talk to her: "To speak on such a sensitive and real situation when you don’t have all the facts, that to me is the frustrating part of it all because, again, us adults will be fine, but my son has to grow up one day and he has to see...We didn’t get to talk, so that was that.”

Ciara and Future ended their engagement a year ago, after rumors surfaced that Future cheated on the "Body Party" singer. He publicly refuted those claims and remains insistent that he totally broke up with her first.
