Organizers of the popular Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival have announced that 2012's fest will take place as two separate events in the same place over two weekends, while featuring the same exact lineup each time. Get all that?

The decision comes in response to the overwhelming demand of tickets for the Coachella festival in recent years. "In an effort to try and accommodate everyone who wants to experience the festival, Coachella 2012 will be two separate events, held over two consecutive weekends," reads a statement. "We will attempt to produce two identical festival weekends. That means same lineup, same art, same place, different people."

It should be interesting to see how this works out, as it is really the first time anyone has attempted to stage the same exact festival in the same location two weekends in a row. Some people might argue that it takes away from the unique experience of the single weekend, but others will probably be pleased that it opens up a greater opportunity to catch the artists on the lineup.

The recently staged Coachella 2011 festival (see pictures) featured performances by Kanye West, Kings of Leon and dozens of other artists. While no acts have been announced yet, tickets amazingly go on sale this Friday for the 2012 events in Indio, Calif. The dates for the two Coachella festivals are April 13-15 and April 20-22. Start planning early, music fans!
