Your Next ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Spinoff Judges Include Adam Rippon and Mandy Moore
The highly anticipated DWTS spinoff may be called Dancing With the Stars: Juniors, but there will be no rookies on the judging panel.
ABC has announced that Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon, two-time DWTS Mirror Ball winner Val Chmerkovsky and Emmy-winning film choreographer Mandy Moore—of La La Land fame, not the singer-actress of "Candy" and This Is Us fame—will star as the judges for the upcoming off-shoot, which will pair celebrity children with young professional ballroom dancers.
The panel of judges were revealed on Good Morning America Monday morning (July 30).
Earlier this month, a sources speaking to Us Weekly claimed that the first two kids cast to compete on Juniors are Alana Thompson — a.k.a. Honey Boo Boo — and Black-ish actor Miles Brown.
Professional ballroom dancer Witney Carson has already been tapped as one of the mentors who will work with a dancing pair on the show.
"It's a good change of pace. I think people will like the kid version of it, it's going to be super fun and I hope people will like it," Carson told Entertainment Tonight about the spinoff. "I'm actually going to be a mentor to the couple — I don't know who I have yet, probably somebody Disney, for sure, but I don't know, so we'll see."
Dancing With the Stars: Juniors premieres on ABC on Sunday, October 7.
Season 27 of the original Dancing With the Stars will return on Monday, September 24.
