Those of you who somehow remain unperturbed by Hollywood’s continual reboots, remakes, prequels and sequels of much-beloved movies and TV shows, rejoice! The High School Musical franchise is about to receive its fourth installment.

Disney Channel has officially announced that they’re currently looking to cast the movie, which will serve as a follow up to the original trilogy, according to a report from Entertainment Weekly.

Sadly, Kenny Ortega will not return to direct and choreograph High School Musical 4. Jeffrey Hornaday (who previously worked on Disney’s Teen Beach Movie) has been brought on the direct the film instead.

There’s no word yet as to whether any of the original cast — Vanessa Hudgens, Corbin Bleu, Ashley Tisdale, Zac Efron — will return, but the movie will reportedly also take place at East High (once again focusing on the school’s basketball team, the Wildcats), so it’s unlikely the former characters (all of which graduated in the 2008 movie) will have parts too integral to the plot.

High School Musical is part of Disney Channel’s DNA,” said Disney Channels Worldwide president Gary Marsh. "It embodies all that we stand for. As a way of continuing to embrace that heritage, we’re excited to announce ‘the start of something new’ – as we launch a search for a new class of East High Wildcats to star in a fourth installment of the High School Musical franchise.”

Excited about the prospect of yet another High School Musical movie? Or are you still fuming over the fact that Zac Efron didn't show up to the movie's 10 year reunion? Let us know in the comments below.
