It doesn't seem possible, but it really has been six years since hundreds of thousands of 'American Idol' fans caught a McPheever for Katharine McPhee -- and although she's released a handful of albums since finishing her tenure as a contestant on the show, it's her co-starring role on NBC's 'Smash' that has people talking about a comeback for the 27-year-old singer/actress. Now you can hear a quick example of what all the buzz is about.

In this one-minute teaser, McPhee tackles 'Touch Me,' an original number written for the show by OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder. Interspersed with performance footage of a sultry-looking McPhee, clad in a sheet and posing on a bed surrounded by dancers, you'll see clips from the show that feature her character, an aspiring Broadway performer hoping to score the starring role in a musical about Marilyn Monroe.
