If Kodaline have been looking for another song to play on their upcoming North American tour, they seem to have found a strong contender.

For their BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge appearance, the Irish quartet beautifully covered Macklemore + Ryan Lewis' gay-rights anthem 'Same Love.' Their harmonies soar over the same 'People Get Ready' piano line from the original, but Kodaline's version is acoustic and completely rap free.

The band's Steve Garrigan sings lead as well as taking over Mary Lambert's featured vocals. The lyrics are changed up slightly, and Garrigan also sneaks in a few lines of the Calvin Harris hit 'Feel So Close.' The effect is mesmerizing.

'Same Love' won Macklemore + Ryan Lewis the award for Best Video With a Social Message at last month's MTV VMAs. In accepting the Moonman, Macklemore said, "To me, this is the most important record out of all of them. To watch this song in the last year spread across the world is a testament to what is happening right now in America on the forefront of equality."

Meanwhile, Kodaline's debut album, 'In a Perfect World,' is due out on Oct. 8. Just two days later, they will kick off their first-ever North American headlining tour. Check out the dates here.
