As one of the cheeriest and most positive artists in the music world today, Kylie Minogue is rarely seen without a smile on her face. However, in a recent Sunday Night interview with her good friend Molly Meldrum, Minogue was brought to tears as she discussed her life-changing battle with breast cancer in 2005.

"I don't know how I did it myself actually, but I was determined. You might've seen the bravery. I don't think the public really saw ... I stayed indoors and it was my family that supported me through really rotten, dull moments," Minogue tells Meldrum.

Although Minogue was teary-eyed at this point, the moment that really made her cry was when Meldrum asked about her visit to the children's cancer ward of the hospital in Melbourne during that time. Minogue -- who was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2005 -- had surgery and was undergoing chemotherapy at the same hospital.

"I remember one moment there where I was talking to some parents across the other side of a bed, so their child was there," Minogue recalls. "I was saying the things that I would normally say in that situation, just making conversation with the child [and] with the parents, giving them some support as well. And then they really caught me off guard and they just eyeballed me and said, 'And how are you? We hope you get through it.'"

At this point in the interview, Minogue grabbed Meldrum's hand as if she was saying "be right back," and had to get up to collect herself off camera. In her truly humble and ever-graceful fashion, Minogue returned to the interview shortly after, where Meldrum was also tearing up at his good friend's struggle.

"Sorry about that," Minogue said with a smile. "And let me just tell you that the reason that gets me ... I think the greatest part of my job and what I do is the humanity of it. And there's certain moments where that really cuts through."

After watching the moving interview, with it's shifts between sadness and happiness, it becomes clear that Minogue is one of the most loving, grateful and genuinely down-to-earth pop stars in existence today. We could all definitely learn a lot from her.
