Two weeks ago, Billboard made the big announcement that Selena Gomez will be the recipient of 2015's "Chart Topper" award, which once again proved that this year has really been a "Revival" for her.

Today, Billboard has made another announcement about their 10th annual Women in Music Awards (which will take place on December 11 in New York), and this one is even bigger: Pop goddess Lana Del Rey will be honored with this year's "Trailblazer" award, which will "[recognize] the inspiring and interesting path Del Rey's career has taken."

The "Trailblazer" Award is one of Billboard's newest. The magazine established it in 2014 as an effort to recognize "a standout female artist who breaks from convention to make a unique mark in music and pave the way for other talent," according to last year's press release. Del Rey, whose career has made one of the most unique impressions on pop music in quite some time, will succeed last year's winner Hayley Williams from Paramore.

Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media's Entertainment Group echoes those sentiments, stating that "Lana Del Rey has done things her way from the moment she first burst on the scene, and continues to make brave and bold choices that defy convention." She also added that Del Rey is "a trailblazer from her music to her mystery to her multitude of other interests. She keeps everyone awaiting her next move."

With Del Rey slated to receive the "Trailblazer" award, the lineup of honorees at this year's Women in Music Awards just keeps getting better: Gomez is the "Chart Topper," Lady Gaga is "Woman of the Year," and Demi Lovato is this year's "Rulebreaker."

This is clearly an event that pop stans cannot miss for the world.
