Lana Del Rey Inspires New Handbag
Lana Del Rey's throwback and vintage glam style has inspired the British fashion house Mulberry to name a luxurious handbag after the sultry chanteuse.
The Del Rey is a "deer brown grainy print leather" satchel with two top handles and gold hardware that's the perfect complement to the singer's gold tooth. It features a postman's lock closure, as well as a zip closure -- you know, to hold your blue jeans and video games.
While the singer's infamous 'Saturday Night Live' performance inspired a negative perception of the star, it seems that her music and fashion sense has made her a muse for the high-end brand. "The Del Rey was inspired by American singer Lana Del Rey’s nostalgic references to bygone glamour and her playful contrast between retro and modern luxury," Mulberry's site description of the handbag reads.
It continues: "The Del Rey evokes simple refined elegance and timeless luxury as well as the easy sensibility and English common-sense practicality of our heritage icons. The style has a silhouette that implies structure yet it is soft and tactile in the best Mulberry tradition."
The handbag is priced at $1,250, but we have a hunch Del Rey was gifted one from the luxury label. The question is, would you pony up the cash for this accessory?
