Newcomer Lana Del Rey, a self-described "gangsta Nancy Sinatra," has released a video for 'Off to the Races.' It features an odd sort of female empowerment theme with B-movie clips in which renegade women shoot and kill their unfortunate male acquaintances.

Some of the dated footage has an Old West-style theme with cowboys as the victims, while other clips, like a trio of ladies in Daisy Dukes with machine guns, seem straight out of the '70s. Our favorite is the crazed-looking woman with '80s-style big hair and an offensive amount of eye shadow. The text "Don't rile the gun slingin' senoritas" appears above one of the scenes.

Following an oddly-placed sequence showing beaches and palm trees, the end of the video features what appears to be recent footage of women wearing Insane Clown Posse-style makeup holding up a convenience store and helping themselves to free slushies.

'Off to the Races' appear on Del Rey's full-length debut, 'Born to Die,' which arrives on Jan. 31, and she's already booked a gig as the musical guest on 'Saturday Night Live' on Jan. 14.
