Lauren Jauregui Feels ‘Motivated More Than Scared’ to Express Her Sexuality
Lauren Jauregui hopes to be a beacon of hope and inspiration for LGBTQ+ youth everywhere.
The Fifth Harmony singer, who came out as a bisexual woman in an open letter to Trump voters in November 2016, gushes about owning her sexuality and her aspirations to help others in the group's September/October cover story for Seventeen magazine.
“You can’t use the fact that I’m bisexual against me if that’s something I’m proud of," she explains in the upcoming issue. "I feel motivated more than scared to share who I am because it makes me feel awesome when someone comes up to me and says that because of me she was able to find the strength to accept herself."
Speaking to Billboard in 2016, Jauregui expressed her pride, sharing, "I am a bisexual Cuban-American woman and I am so proud of it. I am proud to be part of a community that only projects love and education and the support of one another."
In May, the singer waved the flag of inclusivity on "Strangers" alongside fellow bisexual pop star Halsey.
