In order to get music fans psyched for the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, the music network brought one of rap's biggest and most popular party animals, Lil Wayne. In a promo video for the awards show, Weezy is pictured crowd-surfing, tagging a wall, smashing a guitar and partaking in other rowdy activities.

The clip opens with Weezy inside of an old-school elevator as his track 'John' plays in the background. As the elevator reaches the top floor, Tunechi kicks open the door to reveal a massive party as the signature opening notes of Tupac's 'California Love' begin to blast. Soon enough, Weezy is crowd-surfing, donning his stylish rapper-meets-hipster look with a fitted baseball cap, baggy checkered shorts, and yellow Wayfarers.

In the promo video, Tupac's hit soon gives way Weezy's '6 Foot 7 Foot' as the new backing track. Weezy gets tatted up in the video and smashes a guitar, showcasing his inner rock star. A snippet of Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' begins to play as Weezy's guitar is about to make impact withe the ground.  The rapper then takes his turn spinning at the turntables and poses with some female admirers for a picture.

As PopCrush recently reported, Lil Wayne will be performing at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, which are scheduled to air on Aug. 28 at 9PM EST. In addition to performing, Weezy is also nominated for Best Hip-Hop Video for his '6 Foot 7 Foot' clip.
