In this Battle of the Brits showdown, Marina Diamandis, aka Marina + the Diamonds, is facing off against Paloma Faith for the title of 2013's best artist from the U.K. The Welsh beauty and the fiery-haired Londoner are both accomplished, celebrated singer-songwriters, but which of these recording artists do you like best?

Marina + the Diamonds first broke onto the scene with her 2007 EP 'Mermaid vs. Sailor' and the 2009 extended play 'The Crown Jewels.' After receiving tons of hype from critics and fans for her wonderful fusion of dance-y pop and electro, as well as her bright and bubbly persona, Marina went on to release her 2010 debut 'The Family Jewels,' which went to No. 5 on the U.K. albums chart. That same year, she took home the MTV Europe Music Awards for Best UK & Irish Act. The Diamonds have kept on shining, with the 2012 album 'Electra Hearts' shooting to No. 1 in the U.K. and bringing about hits like 'Primadonna.'

Paloma Faith, on the other hand, also experiments with various genres, but unlike Marina, the pop songstress dips her toe into the soul, rock and jazz pools. Her slightly smokey, powerful and incredibly soulful voice is like nothing else that's around right now, and she's received lots of praise from critics and fans alike for her body of work. Her two LPs, 'Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful?' and 'Fall to Grace' both had strong chart performances, with the latter peaking at No. 2 in the U.K. Her highest-charting single to date, 'Picking Up the Pieces' is one of her best, with the classical strings and beating drums backing up Faith's gorgeous vocals.

So, which of these outstanding singer-songwriters from the U.K. do you prefer? Vote for Marina or Paloma below (up to once per hour) until July 17 at 2PM EST, when this round of voting will close. The winner will advance on and may win the title of best U.K. artist of 2013!
