Nicki Minaj Mourns Over Cousin’s Murder
Nicki Minaj is grieving today over the death of her cousin Nicholas Telamaque who apparently was shot and killed in Brooklyn, N.Y., Sunday night.
The Young Money superstar announced the tragic news and posted a picture of her beloved cousin via her Twitter page. "My precious cousin. My baby. Killed last nite," she tweeted. My cousin Nicholas. Also goes by Juse, or @brolicalcoholic* Murdered. Last nite. Near his home. Brooklyn, NY."
According to the NY Daily News, Telamaque was shot five blocks from his home at around 2:40AM ET. Authorities later found the 27-year-old victim with bullet wounds to his upper torso and rushed him to Kings County Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Police have not found a suspect, as of yet.
Nicki's fans and fellow artists took to the social-networking website to offer their condolences to the young rapper. Among them was R&B singer Jordin Sparks who tweeted: "Sending love & prayers to you and your family."
Nicki Minaj is currently on a US tour with Britney Spears. No word if she will continue on with the jaunt.
