Osama bin Laden Dead: Stars React on Twitter

On May 1, 2011, President Obama announced that Osama bin Laden was killed in a firefight led by the United States military. The death of Al Qaeda's leader "marks the most significant achievement to date" in our country's efforts to defeat Al Qaeda, who nearly 10 years ago led devastating terrorist attacks -- crippling the World Trade Center in New York City and killing thousands of innocent Americans.

Pop stars, like many other Americans, take to Twitter to express their patriotism and triumph, while others also point out a sense of relief as opposed to celebration. “His death does not mark the end of our effort," Obama said in a televised statement broadcasted all over the world. "There’s no doubt that Al Qaeda will continue to pursue attacks against us. We must and we will remain vigilant at home and abroad.”
