Last night (Feb. 18) on 'Pretty Little Liars,' Aria learned a shocking secret about the love of her life, Ezra. So did it answer the one question on everyone's minds: "Is Ezra A?"

Keep on reading to find out, but beware of major spoilers from last night's episode 'Free Fall.'

So yesterday we were trolled by the 'Pretty Little Liars' Twitter into thinking that Aria was going to find out that Ezra is A, but instead she discovered that he was writing a tell-all true crime book about Ali's murder and only got close to Aria to learn more about her missing friend -- with whom he hooked up with while he was in college. Ouch.

Unsurprisingly, Aria did not take this well, even when Ezra admitted that his feelings for her were genuine and he stopped writing while they were together.

So is Ezra A or isn't he? According to showrunner Marlene King in an interview with E!, "Ezra is not 'A,' but he is a pretty little liar ... He's never worn the hoodie."

She also explained that despite his admissions, we still don't know his motivation for doing this. "Was he doing this for greed? Did this turn into something else? Was he helping the girls ultimately? You know, time will tell but I think that betrayal is betrayal."

Executive producer Oliver Goldstick also chimed in to explain that Ezra probably isn't even aware of the existence of A because, "We never wanted to commit to him knowing that the girls had been being tormented like that, because that would've been cruel."

He went on to add that he believes Ezra's feelings for Aria were always real. As he explained, "We always thought that because it's just so much more interesting. If he was just an opportunist or a Machiavellian, it would really not be that interesting for the character, or for us to write. But if he is somebody who has ambition, and then somehow this poor person that he loves now has been crushed under the wheels of it, that's very different."

So what do you think? Is Ezra telling the truth, or are his claims just another red herring?

Tune in next Tuesday (Feb. 25) to ABC Family at 8PM ET to see the saga continue.
