Devyn DeLoera, an aspiring vocalist from Texas, proved that she is more than just a pop powerhouse on tonight’s episode of ‘The Voice’ (Nov. 7). The 20-year-old singer represented Team Christina by singing ‘Bleeding Love’ by Leona Lewis.

Having grown up home-schooled, she felt ostracized from her peers at a young age, but she was able to find a much-needed escape in music. Her musical inspirations include artists such as Demi Lovato, Kelly Clarkson and her coach on the show, Christina Aguilera.

However, DeLoera’s delivery during the live playoffs tonight may not have been all that the judges hoped for. “I know you and I’ve been watching you develop,” began Cee Lo Green. “I wouldn’t say it was your best performance tonight, but I still think you did a great job and will continue to grow.”

Blake Shelton expressed similar sentiments. While claiming to have enjoyed both her soft side as well as her powerful one, he admitted that he had been looking forward to more of a stripped down performance.

Aguilera rounded out the judges' remarks with her own candid opinion. “You’re a total powerhouse singer, and you go blow for blow...And you still took it to that big note at the end, which I respect and adore you for.”

That said, it's clear that DeLoera is up against some pretty fierce competition. Does she have what it takes to advance?
