Kelly Clarkson, Demi Lovato Show ‘Voice’ Hopefuls How It’s Done on Season 13 Finale
Kelly Clarkson and Demi Lovato gave The Voice Season 13 contestants something to aspire to Tuesday night (December 19) with guest performances on the finale that left audiences up on their feet.
Clarkson, whose new LP Meaning of Life dropped in October, unveiled the first live network TV rendition of "Medicine," what she told Official Charts will likely be her next single. And, as Clarkson will serve as a judge on the show's fourteenth season, she definitely had the likes of Adam Levine and Blake Shelton shaking in their boots.
Lovato, meanwhile, busted out a big, booming rendition of new single "Tell Me You Love Me," the eponymous song from her new sixth LP.
Still, all eyes were ultimately on 23-year-old Chloe Kohanski, who won the competition for Team Blake after being nearly eliminated by previous coach Miley Cyrus. The singer told People an initial insecurity — which evolved into humble confidence — is what finally guided her to the trophy.
"I never had a moment where I thought I have this in the bag. It instilled a lot of confidence in me. No matter what I was walking away with I have a sense of who I am," she said. "I also feel like if I wouldn’t have won, I believe Blake when he says he does take care of his team,” Kohanski said about the significance of winning with Shelton. “I’m very stoked that we won this together, that’s very fun. It’s not just for the show, it’s real.”
