NBC is pulling out the big guns to promote Season 2 of 'The Voice' -- as in 'Battleship' and 'Friday Night Lights' director Peter Berg, who has put together a 60-second promo for the singing competition show that will air during the Super Bowl.

Entertainment Weekly describes the spot as an exaggeration of the show's format, in which the judges -- Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton -- choose singers based on their voice alone. If multiple judges select the same singer, they have to try to persuade the performer to choose their team.

In the commercial, titled 'Vokal Kombat,' the competition reaches a new level, with the judges busting out weaponry and underhanded tactics in a no holds barred effort to outduel each other. We can't wait to see what kind of tricks the friendly rivals come up with.

NBC is sacrificing valuable advertising time to run the promo, seeing as how a 30-second commercial during the big game can fetch $3 million. Season 2 of 'The Voice' debuts immediately after Super Bowl XLVI on Feb. 5.
