The Weeknd and Marvel to Release ‘Starboy’ Comic
In celebration of Comic Con weekend in New York City, The Weeknd and Marvel announced the release of Starboy comic after his November 2016 album.
The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, made a special appearance at Comic Con on Saturday (Oct. 7) to reveal the news and announce its release for 2018.
According to Pigeons & Planes report on Tesfaye's interview with Zane Lowe last year, Tesfaye expressed his desire to create a comic out of his Starboy persona.
"He's [Starboy] a character that we created. It’s so funny, we want to create a comic out of him, as well. ” Tesfaye said. “He’s a cool, dope character that makes appearances a lot on the album. He’s definitely made his appearance in different records in the past, as well. He’s a more braggadocious character that we all have inside of us.”
