There've been rumblings of Utada Hikaru's eventual return to music in the past few months, and they're only growing louder with each passing day.

Back in July, the "First Love" superstar revealed that not only had she just given birth to a baby boy (most people didn't even know the notoriously private singer was even pregnant to begin with), but that she'd been working on a new album through the pregnancy — her first since announcing her hiatus in 2010 to return to her personal life for an indefinite period of time.

Now, according to a report by Sports Hochi, it seems that comeback record is almost ready for the general public.

The daily newspaper reports, via English translation, that the album is due out next spring, and that at least two songs from the record will be used for both a TV drama and a news program.

Utada's last official release was her second greatest hits compilation Utada Hikaru Single Collection Vol. 2, which went double platinum upon its release in November of 2010, followed by a one-off single for Evangelion 3.0, "Sakura Nagashi."

Hikki's name has also been popping up in national news headlines as of late because of her 3 million unit-shifting worldwide first week sales record with 2001's Distance, which was only just edged out by Adele's utterly massive 25 opening.

Sounds like it's almost time for her to come back and break yet another record.
