Whitney Houston’s Family Insists Bobby Brown Is Bad Influence After DUI
It's no secret that Whitney Houston's family detests Bobby Brown, but now they're saying they have a reason. The New Edition singer's recent DUI arrest is fueling the Houston family's fire more than ever in their efforts to keep Brown away from his and Houston's daughter, Bobbi Kristina.
TMZ reports that Whitney Houston's mother, Cissy Houston, sees Brown as "a cancer" and a poor influence on her and Bobbi Kristina's lives. The site reports that Cissy sees the DUI incident as just one more good reason for Brown to "keep his distance" from Bobbi Kristina, who is in "a vulnerable place." One source said, "This is the last person she needs to be around." Ouch!
From the sounds of it, Houston's family doesn't have too much to worry about. Bobbi Kristina reportedly wants to cut off all ties to her father, even seeking to change her name to “Kristina Houston.”
For his part, Brown and his legal team have an interesting approach to the DUI charge. While they never denied that he was drinking, they did refute the reasons why he was pulled over to begin. “Everyone is innocent until proven guilty and Mr. Brown was not driving erratically," Brown's attorney, Tiffany Feder, told reporters. "He was speaking on his cell phone. Mr. Brown has not been convicted of anything associated with this incident."
